Government Museum is a popular museum of Jhalawar state of Rajasthan. This museum has the collection of rare manuscripts, sculptures, coins, paintings, old statues and old inscriptions. The different idols, which are preserved and displayed in the Government Museum Jhalawar, are displayed and well preserved. There are many popular idols displayed in Jhalawar’s Government Museum.

Out of them Ardhanarishvara Natraj Statue is the most prominent among all the displayed idols of the museum. This idol was displayed in Moscow during the Festival of India Celebrations in the then USSR long time back. The museum was set up in the year 1915. The museum is nearby to Bhawani Natya Shala. This museum always displays sculptures and architectural fragments of 8th century city of Chandravati and sculptures and epigraphs from Jhalarapatan region. There are also displays of various paintings, manuscripts, idols and beautiful statues of Vishnu, Krishna, Ardhanarsiwara and Trimurti.
Government Museum in Jhalawar state of Rajasthan is open from 10 am to 4.30 pm. The museum is open from Sunday to Thursday. The museum is closed on every Friday and on Gazetted holidays. The entry fee is Rs 3 for adults and Rs 1 for students.
