Jaimal and Kalla were the two chieftains of the Chittaurgarh Fort. When these two leaders were protecting the Chittaurgarh Fort during the siege of the fort in 1568, they fell from the fort. Their kinsmen built memorials at the place where these two young soldiers fell for immortalizing their valor and love for their motherland. Even today, the Chhatris of Jaimal and Kalla Kirti Stambh tell us the story of the valiant heroes of Chittaurgarh Fort. The Chhatris of Jaimal and Kalla Kirti Stambh fall on your way to the fort at a distance of only kilometer from Rampol.
Two chhatris were erected in Chittaurgarh in memory of Kalla and Jaimal. One chhatri of the Chhatris of Jaimal and Kalla Kirti Stambh, dedicated to Kalla, is comprised of 4 spectacular pillars. The second chhatri, dedicated to Jaimal, include six pillars. The Chhatris of Jaimal and Kalla Kirti Stambh are sited on the right side of the first gate of Chittaurgarh Fort and nearby Bhairon Pole, the second gate of the fort. Other than being the home to the famous Chittaurgarh Fort, the historic city of Chittaurgarh is home to many other tourist attractions.
