Bikaner is a popular tourist destination in Rajasthan. Bikaner has a special attraction in tourists. It features many wonderful attractions like Prachina Museum, Junagarh Fort, Bhandasar Jain Temple, Ganga Government Museum, Lalgarh Palace, Gajner Palace, etc. All these attractions are considered as the work of art. If you visit Bikaner, you will find Junagarh Fort among all the major attractions of the place. Placed in Bikaner, Junagarh Fort is one of the most impressive forts of Northern part of India. Junagarh Fort is the most finest Rajput monuments ever built.

Raja Rai Singh was started building Junagarh Fort in the year1587. Raja Rai Singh was an emperor contemporary of Mughal emperor Akbar. The historical Junagarh Fort is counted among the few forts in India which was never attacked or captured. Junagarh Fort features total 37 palaces, temples and pavilions built by different Kings. All these structures of Junagarh Fort stand protected by big walls and round towers.
Karan Pol [gate] is the main entrance to the Junagarh Fort. The gate is east facing. The next gate is called Suraj Pol which means the sun gate. There are several magnificent palaces in the Junagarh fort. These palaces of Junagarh Fort are the symbol of ancient Indian art. These places are named as Rang Mahal or palace of pleasure, Anup Mahal, Ganga Niwas.
There is an another temple named the Har Mandir which is the royal chapel for the royal. In that temple the members of royal family worshiped their gods and goddesses. These palaces were made by red sandstone and marble. These are the beautiful structures of art. The picturesque assemblage of courtyards, balconies, kiosks, and windows make the structures more elegant and significant. There is a museum in the premises of the Junagarh Fort. The museum consists of a wide range of of a rich art collection.
The Junagarh Fort is open to everybody. It opens at 10 AM in the morning and closes at 4.30 PM. If a tourist want to see the full part of the fort, the person will buy a ticket cost fifty rupees but one can see a few part of the fort by buying tickets for ten rupees. If you want to carry your still or movie cameras with you, then you must be charged separately.
